Buckeye to realign voting districts

The Buckeye Town Council has taken some initial steps toward drawing new voting districts. In May 2005, voters approved dividing the

Results of the 2010 Census have necessitated a need to reconfigure voting districts so that the ratio of population to area is more balanced, said Douglas Johnson of National Demographics Corp.


The firm was hired by the town to determine criteria for reconfiguring the voting districts. He presented the plans for doing so at a special meeting of the Town Council on March 21.

Avondale may get fulfillment center

Sprinkler helps limit apartment fire damage, officials say

Avondale firefighters have credited a sprinkler system for limiting damages in an apartment fire that erupted last week. Nobody was home when the small blaze
