An Evening with Only Men Aloud
Art Exhibition: Celebration
The Big Picture
Friday 10 August 7.30pm
Only Men Aloud was formed in 2000 by Choir Master and Music Director Tim Rhys-Evans to inject some new blood into the Male Welsh Choir tradition. The choir enjoyed early success, finding regular slots on BBC Radio 4, Songs of Praise and S4C. Fast forward to 2008 and the Saturday night hit BBC show ‘Last Choir Standing’ – where OMA battled through the rounds to an all- Welsh final, where they were ultimately crowned the Nation’s favourite choir.
The rest, as they say, is history and after signing a multi-album record deal with Universal Music, their debut album went ‘Gold’ within a week. The boys have gone on to complete four sell-out UK tours amongst many other achievements, including performing for Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace and scooping a Classical Brit Award for ‘Album of the Year’ in 2010.
We are delighted to welcome them to Porthcawl for the first time, in what promises to be a spectacular evening of entertainment.
Tickets £22.50

This year our summer art exhibition is themed Celebration. Come along and view the work of local and regional artists as they express what celebration means to them. The exhibition also features “The Big Picture”, and a photography exhibition hosted by Porthcawl and Pyle Photographic Society.
Call to artists: This is a great opportunity for you to show us the things you like to celebrate in your life. It might be special memories, favourite places, pets, friends, a view you love, treasured objects, even some flowers. Or you might want to celebrate the big things, special occasions, sporting events, parties, fireworks or holidays. Whether it’s big or small, if it’s something that’s special to you, why not celebrate it in a picture and submit it to the exhibition? Please check website or contact Box Office for further information.
Tickets FREE Entry

Get creative in our free drop-in art workshops and share your vision of Porthcawl. Throughout the week, we'll be creating a unique portrait of Porthcawl by making a huge picture of the town using the drawings and images created by you. Come and make sure your favourite place is on the map: maybe the fair or a park, your house, a caravan or of course the beach.
Whatever your age and whether you want to do a quick sketch or a detailed picture, come and get creative! We'll provide the materials - you bring your imagination! The big picture will grow and evolve over the course of the week, so be sure to come back to check on progress!
Free entry and everyone welcome, but children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
