“I would say my album is about everyday life, with a little sarcasm in there like ‘Excuses’, which is written about my boyfriend doing nothing about the house, at gigs I always ask the ladies to put their hands up if their man constantly makes an Excuse which seems to go down well. ‘Sit on Your Ass’ is about people scamming the benefit system, ‘I Don’t Understand’ featuring Dirt MgRirt is about a loved one who unfortunately took their own life, and ‘Black Shadow’ is about guilt, so there is a right mixture of tracks on the album. I wanted to do something different that isn’t above love as I think there are too many loves songs out there at the moment; I mean there are love songs for people at the start and the end of relationships but nothing in the middle, I wanted people to relate to me in a normal kind of way. Tere’s so many different genres and styles on the album, I didn’t want to stick to anything in particular and experimented to see what worked for me”.

SUMMARY “Te last year has been mental, I’ve loved every minute of it, and it’s been exhausting to say the least. I think starting singing at 22 has pushed me to work harder as I know most musicians don’t have much shell life especially if you want to get noticed, but then again I wouldn’t have been able to write specific songs without being the age I am and going through the experiences I have. In 2011 I performed at over 150 gigs and found the more I did the more opportunities I was given so to anyone just starting out I would definitely recommend doing as much as you can. I understand not everyone is going to like what I do and have to except the fact that there are always going to be people out there who make ridiculous rumours about you. Some people think as a singer/songwriter I get paid a lot of money for perform- ing and that everything comes easy, but it’s not like that, the first year I refused to be paid as I wanted to know if music was for me and not the money that attracted me to it, now I’m without work and struggling to get paid gigs, it’s hard, I’m still working on making a better future for myself, but this is only the start. My songs are based on personal experi- ences; I find it difficult to write if I’ve not been through a certain situation, song-writing also helps when I can’t talk to someone so I write a song. I’m so grateful that I have some amazing friends who keep me grounded, one of them being Lindsey Souter she’s been there from the start, attending festivals, gigs, taking video and pictures when perform- ing, she’s my rock! I know there is a long way to go and I’ve so many things I want to do, I’ve already fulfilled one of my dreams which was performing at the O2 London, but I’d love to perform on the Jules Holland Show and hopefully Glastonbury next year, and go on tour even if it’s just as a support act for a really cool band/artist, maybe a number one even if I don’t sing it! Whatever the future holds I’m ready for it”!
