We were allocated to Room 3. Accommoda- tion at Treetops is what you would expect in a forest – basic but comfortable. We spent the first part of the afternoon on the roof. Large herds of Buffalo and Water Buck; Gazelles as well.
At 4:30 we assembled in the lounge to hear RJ Prickett, one time hunter at Treetops, give his talk “The Beasts of the Forest”; very good; I liked the way he treated us all like school children:- “And the next creature we come on to.............” “And we all know the difference between an Antelope and a Deer don’t we?”!
We bought his book as the proceeds go toward forest restoration. He was good enough to sign it for us. A real character, a bit brusque, but he certainly knew his beasts of the forest!
We did some more animal watching, but when it seemed that the Elephants would
