with Young readers Dancing with students
by Robyn Hatch Soule School planned all year for a month long
activities calendar to celebrate reading, called Soule Reads with famous author Kate Dicamillo’s award winning books. Each student in the building will receive his or her own book based on the student’s grade level. Activities will be held throughout the month based on the appropriate book. Activities are voluntary, and each Friday teachers will take time to share what is being done at home. Art work will also be displayed throughout the school. As an incentive, BJ’s has donated a Kindle to raffl e for a parent winner. Each week there is a variety of activities to choose from to complete with your child. Soule Reads At Home Activities based on Kate DiCamillo’s books: Mercy Watson Goes For a Ride, Bink and Gollie, Mercy Watson to the Rescue, Winn Dixie, Tale of Desperseuaux, and Magician’s Elephant.
Hanging on for life What a fun time of year for Soule! Salem High School Students of the Month
the Water Than Expected When it comes to fi nding time to fi sh, many anglers dream big at the beginning of each year. However, making all of their plans happen is a bit more of a challenge. That was the case last year as reported by anglers in a survey conducted by
AnglerSurvey.com. When asked if they fi shed more, less or as much as expected, 45 percent of participating anglers said they made it out “less.” Conversely, less than 27 percent of anglers made it out more than expected and only 28 percent made it out as much as expected. Southwick Associates recently provided key research for “On the Fence About Fishing: A Study of Why Anglers Do and Don’t Fish and What Will Get Then on the Water,” a study that examined the reasons anglers fi sh less or quit fi shing altogether, as well as what activities they participated in instead of fi shing. The study was conducted on behalf of the American Sportfi shing Association. The key factor cited in the report was “not enough time.” That report can be viewed at
www.southwickassociates.com.

DRA Intelliforms Released
submitted by NH Department of Revenue Administration NH Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) announces the release of the Tax Year 2011 Intelliforms. These intelligent forms pave the way for two roads to success: providing taxpayers with advanced capabilities to assist them in fi lling out their return; and giving DRA the ability to more effi ciently process using scanning, Optical Character Recognition, and electronic deposit. These technological enhancements led by DRA will give taxpayers greater ease in fi ling and paying via e-fi le and alternate payment methods in 2013. Redesign of the
2011 forms resulted from extensive collaboration with members of the NH Tax Bar, NH CPA Society, and vendors. These new forms may be fi lled out online and then printed for fi ling with DRA. DRA encourages taxpayers and tax practitioners to fi ll out the forms online as usage of the 2D barcode system allows DRA to achieve greater accuracy and productivity in returns processing. To obtain forms visit NH DRA’s
