Where to Stay

With its beautiful town, stunning harbour and breath-taking scenery, Padstow can only be described as paradise…

After the 4 week countdown to our stay in Padstow, we were thrilled with our accommodation. We stayed at Camel Cottage, a well-presented character cottage located in the town centre - just a short walk away from the shops and the beautiful Padstow harbour. Our cottage was like a ‘home-from-home’ with a few luxurious finishing touches including a large standalone bath and a gas-fired Rayburn oven. We were also particularly pleased with the large hard landscaped walled garden where our dogs could run around safely outside. Padstow has so much to offer with a charismatic town that has a real ‘community’ feel, a breath-taking beach and the famous ‘camel trail’. In addition to this, Padstow has a good variety of pubs and restaurants including the famous Rick

Stein’s collection (we sampled the fish and chips take-away, which we highly recommend). My husband and I couldn’t resist going into Chough Bakery (recently featured on BB2’s Alex Polizzi - The Fixer) and trying one of their pasties. We were not left disappointed and found ourselves returning there each day to try a different flavour!

Another famous delicacy of Cornwall is their fudge. My colleagues were elated when I came back to the office with Cornish fudge for everyone. Let’s be honest- nothing compares to Cornish fudge!!

Anyone that stays in Padstow should definitely experience the Padstow Rock Ferry (named Black Tor) for the 10 minute journey over to Rock. We took our dogs and they loved it! Walking along Rock

beach that day seemed to wash away the stresses of life. We treated ourselves to an ice-cream, sat on Rock beach and talked about our dreams of one-day buying a house in Padstow (pure fantasy!). On the last day of our mini-break we decided to get up early and take our dogs on a long walk on the Padstow Camel Trail. To me, this setting can only be described as an area of outstanding natural beauty. We found a bench about 3 miles into the walk and sat there for a while just taking in the beautiful views. Cycle hire is available if you want to explore the whole 11 miles!

I love Padstow and it is by far one of my favourite places. We came home feeling refreshed, re-energised and ready to book our stay for next year!!
