Technology in focus New PSUs for the EMEA region
launch of a range of switch mode Power Supply Units (PSUs) for the EMEA region. The new PSUs are available in 1, 2 and 3A versions and are all capable of delivering a fully regulated 13.8V dc output with a universal mains supply of 90V ac - 264V ac. Constructed from 3mm ABS, the units have space to house a 7Ah battery, offer battery charging as standard, and feature an aesthetically pleasing opaque lid to conceal their components. Significantly, the Amseco PSUs are IP65 rated which

means that there is the potential to deploy them in external as well as internal environments. Typical examples include locations exposed to the elements, such as warehouses and loading bays, or wet wash down areas. From an installation perspective, for flexibility the PSUs
come without fixed cable entries. This means that installers can put the glands wherever they are required according to the demands of a specific application. The high voltage electronics contained in the PSU are also carefully shrouded to enhance installer safety. Other features of the Amseco PSUs include electronic short-circuit protection and mains present and fault indication LEDs to allow a quick diagnosis of any problems.

to many of the basic questions as well as useful tools and links for more assistance and advice on topics such as false alarm reduction. This release follows on from the company’s earlier launch of the EMS FireCell app, which has already seen over a 1000 downloads for the Android version alone. Ray Puttock, Marketing Manager of EMS Fire & Security comments, “The introduction of the app is another exciting development for EMS and really demonstrates our commitment to providing information for fire professionals and to the fire industry as a whole, using the latest technology.”
Control panel launches
The new products include an XV-IP control panel, the XV- IP 210, which provides the installer with a dual path signalling option using Ethernet as the primary path and

GPRS as back up. The panel is targeted primarily at permanent commercial applications, and provides both a ten second video clip upon activation of the PIR camera as well as the option of two-way voice through a speaker microphone. Also launched is the XTO 210 outdoor control panel.
The panel is ideal for applications such as construction sites, utilities, and vulnerable remote assets, and features an XT control panel and booster RF and GPRS antennas inside an IP rated box.

There are three options in the range with only the camera type changing per kit:- internal HD domes, HD IR vandal-resistant domes and weather-proof bullet style HD IR cameras. told us, “The concept of having camera options to suit individual installations is a smart choice as the installer can ‘cherry-pick’ depending on the job. Plus the supplied software offers some great functions including EPOS connectivity, database searching, alarm management and motion/face detection”.

iLin has released the HD IP Kit, available from Pro- Vision. Each kit includes four cameras, four power
lovers of ‘design’ and families with children. The smoke detector is equipped with a 1.5 year battery lifetime and a three-year warranty. The Chick-a-Dee takes its name and appearance from the American Black-capped Chickadee (Poecile atricapilla). This name is a tribute to its warning call, the phonetic Chickadee sound. At the smallest threat, the bird calls chick- a-dee-dee, and in more serious circumstances, the call becomes a loud dee-dee-dee sound. As soon as smoke is detected a 85 db alarm signal is activated. Under normal conditions, a control light flashes once a minute. The Chick-a-Dee can be tested by pressing the test button.
