Cyclists may like to hire a bike and take to the Rempstone Ride route, a mostly off-road, 12-mile circular course that links into the National Cycle Network Route 2. TE Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, once lived in Cloud’s Hill, a small cottage near the village of Moreton. Now owned by the National Trust it is open on selected afternoons from March to the end of
October. Moreton church is also well worth a visit if only for the beautiful etched windows created by Laurence Whistler. The original stained glass windows were destroyed when the church was hit by a German bomber during WWll.
