54 | MODERN CLASSICS Up to Par Fashion
Give yourself a sporting chance on the course by getting the look of these prominent players. BY SOPHIE HULL
G
olf requires smarter wear than many other sports; the “gentleman’s game” demands a level of sophistication, with many courses having strict dress codes. But achieving the right look while making allowances for the movement involved can be difficult. We take a look at three of the game’s current style leaders for inspiration.
CLASSIC: ADAM SCOTT
Scott has always had a clean, no-nonsense approach to fashion on the course. In 2011, Aquascutum’s first range of golf clothing was released with Scott as ambassador. Incidentally, 2011 was a strong season for Scott. This iconic London based fashion house has been around since 1851 and was originally a manufacturer of waterproof clothing. The partnership is a good fit for Scott; the clothing range is sophisticated, with practical, sporty elements such as mesh paneling and moisture wicking. Off the course, Scott cleans up well. Wearing a suit and a smile, he could pass as a movie star.
