dissonance. He rips when it is appropriate and he is refined when necessary. Tim sometimes refers to

Tom Mattern (bass guitar and vocals) as “Mr. Color My Basement” Tim goes on to tell me that Tom is as colorful at the low end of the frequency spectrum as Bob is at the high end. Tom’s responsibilities also extend to using his enter- taining wit in the regular notifications on upcoming gigs, preparing the gig post- ers and writing some origi- nal music. Tim describes Brian Welch (drums and vocals) as an animal. Brian is extremely intense behind the drum kit and one of the coolest guys when he is off the stage. Brian is the driv- ing force for the band and is also responsible for back- ing vocals. Brian is always

pushing everyone in the band to do more and be better. Together as Two Hour Delay, Tim, Bob, Tom and Brian perform rock, blues, folk, country and bluegrass style tunes. Together, these can be lumped together as Americana, but Tim is quick to point out that this term is misunderstood by some as meaning just country. moved here in 1997 from Rochester, he felt that Syracuse was strictly a blues town. Since he has immersed himself into the local scene with Two Hour Delay, he has found the area to be much more diverse and it seems to be evolving. Tim has met some great talent and played some cool venues in the area. It has all opened the door for Tim to meet many cool people at his shows. For further information about Tim, his band mates or Two Hour Delay, a quick search on Facebook will lead to personal and band pages., but the simplest way would be to go to www. twohourdelay.com which serves as a hub to all the other pages related to the band and its members. I suggest you email them at

While Jack O Bocchino has become established as a strong supporter of live and local music scene, he prefers to consider it partial payment to the local music com- munity for the support and entertainment they have given him over many years. He dabbles in amateur photography and posts many photos of local musicians on his Facebook page, which can be found by searching on his name. He can be reached at jobocchino@gmail.com
