throughout the state, the country and the world, our intrepid professors were in great demand during 2011. They shared expertise with colleagues as far away as Australia and Spain, and right here at home, compiling a noteworthy record of scholarly achievement.

Our faculty’s generous commitment to our students is balanced by a healthy engagement with ideas. As accessible teachers and accomplished scholars, these professors remind us what it means to be intellectual leaders of the rich and rewarding legal community we are fortunate to occupy. This faculty has been educated by the nation's most distinguished law schools, including our own, and some have taught at other fine law schools as well. Together, they bring to the UNM School of Law a healthy diversity of backgrounds and professional outlooks on legal education. Though their teaching styles and scholarly pursuits vary, they share a strong commitment to the pursuit of justice, and I continue to be gratified by their high level of engagement, locally and nationally. We have a great sense of pride in our faculty. This annual issue of Faculty Highlights provides a glimpse into our faculty’s scholarship, research, activities and honors for the 2011 calendar year.
