SPOTLIGHT ON Y O U N G M A S T E R S

SpotlightOn is the new Entrepreneur Country monthly feature which showcases the work of some of the best start up ideas & entrepreneurs in the UK who are under the age of 30 (which we call the Young Masters Community). Our panel of judges will each week be introducing our community to three of Britain’s most talented and exciting young entrepreneurs.

Tobi Alli-Usman

Tobi has established himself as one of the leading young entrepreneurs to watch in 2012. The self made ‘employed-preneur’ heads up the Business Development department at Entrepreneur Country whilst running a successful small business.

Jamie Lester

By the age of 24, Jamie had started his own real-state company. He went on to appear in the BAFTA award winning show BBC Two series The Apprentice and is now a successful management consultant and an Ambassador for EC Young Masters.

Deji Osobukola, 30 Director of Fame Entertainment Ltd www.fameonline.co.uk www.facebook.com/fame.entertainment 1. Give us a brief outline of your company

Fame is a talent and lifestyle magazine for students and young people. The magazine showcases talented and entrepreneurial people and we balance that with advice from industry experts and entrepreneurs. The main aim of the magazine is to inspire young people to chase and believe in their dreams.

2. What were you doing before starting your company? I was working at the Graduate Consulting Unit at the University of Hertfordshire. We had to come up with marketing strategies and conduct

research for companies and their brands. I didn’t feel fulfilled while I worked there. I felt there was something missing in my life. All I did was think about Fame and how to make it work, so I decided to quit my job and chase my dream.

3. Where did you get the idea for your business? It all started while I was completing my Masters at university. I met a lot of talented and entrepreneurial students, but no one knew what they were doing and how hard they were working. I was inspired and I thought it would be a good idea to give them some exposure and also inspire other aspiring entrepreneurs.

4. Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?

I would love to have the magazine distributed in 15 - 20 universities and towns. I want to give young people a voice, inspire them and keep expanding the business. The magazine is at the first stage of what Fame entertainment is all about, there are still two more stages and the goal would be to make all three stages work.
