IN THE STUDY

IPC Media has launched a major study into women aged between 40 and 60-years-old in a bid to help agencies and clients unlock their commercial power. The study will examine the lifestyles of the women, dubbed GenerationYNot!, looking at their outlooks and spending habits. Sylvia Auton, CEO of IPC Media, says: “GenerationYNot! women are more open, optimistic, and alive to the endless possibilities ahead of them – more so than ever before.” Initial research has already shown GenerationYNot! are four times happier than those under 40, and 98% are responsible for making the household buying decisions. As part of the study IPC will offer brands and agenices a number of partnership opportunities, including a variety of research studies and access to editorial expertise through editorial think tanks. Charlie Meredith, managing director, IPC Advertising adds: “We are challenging the industry not to ignore this powerful and influential consumer.”

8 Pure Beauty April 2012

Lena White donated £1 to ovarian cancer charity Ovacome for every bottle of OPI’s Teal the Cows Come Home sold during March. Teal is the recognised colour for ovarian cancer month, which takes place during March, so Lena White encouraged beauty fans to ‘wear their teal tips with pride,’ helping to save lives by improving women’s understanding and awareness of the subtle signs of ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer affects one in 72 women of all ages and was historically known as the ‘silent killer’ because of its lack of symptoms. Lena White’s Teal Tips campaign aimed to get women wearing the distinctive shade of varnish in the hope of raising the awareness for the illness and of cancer charity Ovacome. Teal is also an on-trend shade for Spring/Summer 2012. For more information about Ovacome visit www.ovacome.org.

DOWN TO EARTH Origins is celebrating Earth Month during

April and is offering consumers two ways to show their support. On Saturday 21 April the brand is offering customers a complimentary full size bottle of either its Starting Over Age-erasing Moisturizer with Mimosa, or A Perfect World SPF25 Age-Defense Moisturizer with White Tea when they bring any empty bottle of an Origins skincare product in to stores. It will also be planting a tree for every purchase of a product in the A Perfect World collection from 15 – 28 April. The effort is a result of the brand’s partnership with Global ReLeaf, which plants trees to help restore areas damaged by wild fire across the globe in order to help clean the earth’s air and water supplies.
