exploit the opportunities. The panel, which includes former executives from Tesco and Topshop and experts from the British Retail Consortium, Which?, Forum for the Future, Mastercard, BT and Nielsen, has identified ten aspects which are most likely to shape the future of British retail by 2020, including the notions that despite the growth of online shopping, physical stores will still have a vital role, increasingly focused on complementing digital channels; retail experiences will become more customised, personal and interactive; retailers will offer customers a seamless branded multi-channel experience; and social media will increasingly complement advertising as a tool in shaping consumer brand perceptions. In the vision paper, the Retailtopia panel outlines seven priority investment areas for retailers to make ‘Retailtopia’ a reality. SUNKISSED TAN RANGE HITS TESCO
Rainbow Cosmetics has launched its Sunkissed self- tanning brand into 200 Tesco stores nationwide. Tesco has taken the full Sunkissed collection, which includes wash off shimmer soufflé and three instant tan products: an aerosol mousse, a lotion, and an air- pump mousse, priced between £4-£5. Cheryle Wilkinson, marketing manager at Rainbow Cosmetics, says: “Our research suggests that while disposable income continues to be restricted, the consumers’ refusal to compromise on their
beauty regimes means they are looking for less expensive products that will deliver comparable results. We have spent a lot of time developing the formulations and are extremely confident in our range of self-tans.”
