years of business this Memorial Day weekend. While owners Dave and Li Ying Gilbert will not disclose their celebratory plans they will say they are planning a grand party with lots of give away items. Cookie’s Chuck wagon opened on Saturday, Memorial Day weekend in 1992 with only 42 customers for the entire day. Today, Cookie’s sees more than that in one hour and owes its success to its dedicated employees who strive to provide the best quality and friendliest service possible to the many regular and dedicated customers that make Cookie’s the Hudson landmark it is today. Like every business in this tight economy it has been a challenge every day but our dedicated customers have been faithful and our staff has been resourceful says Dave which has allowed us to continue to serve the greater Hudson community and we look forward to many more years of doing the same.
Once referred to as the “Cheers of Hudson” by the Nashua Telegraph, Cookie’s continues to be the place to meet with family and friends for breakfast. With a nine-page breakfast menu there is little lacking from the selection. But special offerings surface all the time so it never gets boring at Cookie’s. French Insurance Agency: Nine Decades of Customer Care
The French
Insurance Agency has been in business since 1928, although the location and methods of doing business have changed substantially since then.
In 1928 Harold
French operated the business out of his home in Hudson. By the late 1940s his wife Maude and son Gordon, were active in the business. In those days most business was transacted face to face. Today, with the universal availability of phones and computers, face-to-face transactions are not always required, although still most desirable. Presently, Rick and staff do much of their business over the phone, although many of their customers still like to come in and handle their business in person. Their present location is 12 Derry Street, across from the Hudson Common.

town, all three Frenches were active in many civic organizations in town. Today Rick is a member of the Hudson-Litchfield Rotary Club and the Agency is a member of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce. The French Agency sponsors Hudson Little League, Hudson Girls Softball, and many Alvirne sports teams. They also support the Alvirne Band and other Alvirne activities.
