What can House of Colour do for you? By Pauline Harwood, Style and Colour consultant
We all know that we should value people for who they are inside and yet the reality is that we make judgements about people based on what they look like.
We make those decisions within the first 90 seconds of meeting them!
• We say “Never judge a book by its cover”……but if you don’t like the cover, you will never open the book!
• What message are you giving? Do people see you as friendly or aloof, shapeless or elegant, healthy or weary?
I’m often asked who should come to have their colours done. Well, the answer is simple……“it is for everyone!”. Some come when they have reached a crossroads of some sort in their lives. Then there are those who are desperate to find extra hours in the day and need to find clothes that will look good quickly. Or those who have received an unkind comment such as “You always look tired” (thoughtless comments like this can stay with us for a long time).
Recently, I noticed that some places are vibrant and filled with colour, whilst others are more sedate. It is precisely this that gives them their character. Funnily enough, it’s exactly the same with people. Because we’re all individuals, to copy the styles and colours that other people are wearing may never work for you. I hear people say they can never find styles to suit them. So, taking a few simple steps and embracing the whole House of Colour approach will be life changing.
• You really can look great. Let me show you how to bring out your best features by wearing styles that suit you and colours that enhance your skin tone.
• Own a capsule wardrobe. Learn how to ensure that everything you buy works 100% and not having a wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear.
• Save money and time. See how shopping can become fun and easy, with no costly mistakes.
• Increase your self-confidence. When you know you look good, it’s inevitable that you will feel good too. And when you know you feel good, your confidence really soars.
• Improve your career prospects. Wearing the correct clothes in business, means you will be taken more seriously. Also, clever use of accessories can help you to exude authority. You will learn how all these elements can play a huge part in improving your chances of promotion and doing well at interviews.
