Bocce Ball Winter League Playoffs.
Barbara Hockert and Gina DiVecchio The Bocce Ball Association congratulates
our very own Women’s Arizona State Senior Olympics’ Gold Medalists Dianne Augustus, Beverly Coe, Carol Gwilt and Muriell Mileski for their outstanding performance. Thank you for representing our community and bocce ball so well. We are all proud of you. We had 350 people attend and enjoy the
picnic and playoffs, which ended the Bocce Ball Winter League. The Spring League, which started
March 28, 2012, will consist of 15 teams on Wednesday and 16 teams on Friday. Remember, play begins at 8:30 a.m. unless
otherwise designated on the schedules given to the captains on March 21, 2012. Attention all snowbirds. You may want to
let your captains know if you will be playing in the Fall League. The dues for next year are $15.00 and must be paid at registration time, which is slated for September 10, and 11, 2012. Since we have been fi elding a number of
questions regarding several rules, it appears we need to have each captain cover rule 18 regarding measurements and rule 21 which discusses inadvertent removal of ball(s) before all balls are delivered. Thank you in advance for making sure the entire team understands the rules.
PCM9GA posts first round leaders for championship
There was a large turnout of current and former softball players as well as several league sponsors on Feb.29 for PCSSA’s 12th annual Golf Tournament. In the photo is Ken Sangillo, Tournament Organizer, on the left presenting the award to the 1st Place Foursome. Pictured left to right are League Sponsor, Greg Dunton, Dunton Health and Wealth League Sponsor, Bill Wallschlaeger, West Valley Golf Cars Former Player, Jim Bundschuh, Current Player, Dean Bass.

Erv Stein A group of 100 PCM9GA golfers
competed in the fi rst round of the sixth annual PCM9GA Championship Flight Tournament on March 1 under quite windy but otherwise quite temperate weather conditions. The PCM9GA golfers participating in this
two session event were organized into four fl ight groups with an A, B, C, and D golfer in each group, based upon the individual golfers established AGA handicaps. While the fi rst round winners may or may not wind up winners based upon the second and deciding round results on March 8, some due recognition is in order since the competition proved to be very keen with no more than one or two strokes separating the leaders from the also-ran golfers. Since the fi rst round results were indeed considered to be preliminary,
the
appropriate tie-breaking rules were not implemented and therefore for the four fl ight groups, the following PCM9GA golfers were listed as fi rst round leaders, with their net scores: Greg Roth-30, Steve Rottger-30, Tom Pizzello-30, Steve Owens-30, Dennis Chapman-30, Stan Fuller-31, Roger Werthmann-31, Pete Droncheff-31, Don

Peterson-31, and Ken Knox-31. The PCM9GA’s extremely busy schedule
continues with the second round of the Championship Tournament on March 8, the annual meeting on March 13 and the highly anticipated gala banquet to be held on March 15. We highly encourage new interested members to join our fun-loving
group
which welcomes golfers at all skill levels. The $45 annual cost includes dues for the AGA membership, which is essential for handicap reporting. Please visit the Pebble Creek PCM9GA website at www.
