Just Folks Association inducts 2012 officers

Carolyn Suttles Just Folks Association held their annual


meeting Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. Clyde Dowell, outgoing president, offi ciated the meeting calling for minutes, treasurer’s report and committee reports. The induction of offi cers was the focus of the meeting’s


business. Clyde Dowell and Daisy Dowell conducted the ceremony to install: Jerome Sims, President, Muriel Hiller, Vice President and Francine Griffi n, Treasurer. The new 2012 offi cers will continue to make Just Folks widely known as a club and contributor to the PebbleCreek community. 

Creek Hiking Club hiked on the old Caterpillar company test roadbed we’ve named Caterpillar Hill. This is the white road in the White Tank Mountains you see from Pebble Creek. Fifteen members made it all the way to the top of this very steep road. This was a challenge hike for our C level hikers. We normally would have stopped at the point where the picture was taken

(7.5 miles round trip and 800 ft elevation change), but the challenge was too tempting to pass up and almost everyone went to the top shown in the background which is a B level hike of 9.5 miles and 1600 ft elevation change. Many of our hikes offer fl exibility as to length and elevation change providing hikers of any fi tness level the opportunity to see Arizona at its natural best.
