Community Going places with the Mayor In honor of Read Across America, Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny took a little
time off from his staff memos and agenda items to read to fourth graders earlier this month. He read the Dr. Seuss classic “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” to an assem- bly at Hull Elementary and at Hancock Elementary School. He followed the readings by chatting with the classes about the great places
education can take them, including the position of Chandler Mayor. Mayor Tibshraeny is a native of the city and graduated from Chandler High School. Tibshraeny has a lifetime of public service in the East Valley. In addition to his
most recent appointments, he serves the following professional and civic organi- zations: Chandler/Gilbert Association for Retarded Citizens Advisory Board, Child Crisis Center Advisory Board and ICAN Site Advisory Committee. Details are available at

“loser” David Segura and five other Arizona contestants are pursuing a quest to win $10,000 from Genghis Grill. The restau- rant’s “Health Kwest” is a two- month contest in which selected “khantestants” eat at Genghis Grill once a day, adopt a healthy diet and exercise plan and share their journey online where the public will vote for their favorite. Segura is one of 83 participants
selected from among 1,500 applicants to eat at Genghis Grill for free once a day for 60 days, and has personally lost more than 20 pounds. His Chandler Genghis Grill is at 900 N. 54th St. “The best way to describe the
