of different areas of Britain: the South Downs, Yorkshire, Devon & Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands.

The BBC crew began filming at the school’s weekly Chapel service, which Hugh Dennis attended. Jeremy Tomlinson, Secretary of the Friends of Lancing College Chapel, was interviewed, and gave Hugh Dennis a tour of the Chapel, including a visit to the Chapel roof. pilgrimage passes close to much of the population of the Diocese. Richard and the team will be on motorbikes but that isn’t compulsory for anyone else, although if you have one and want to join in for any part of the route you’d be most welcome. Richard says, “prayer changes things and the Olympics provides a great opportunity for churches to engage with their communities in fresh ways. Our prayer is that this pilgrimage will raise awareness before the event and empower them to make a difference. The bikes will hopefully give the event a higher profile and are nothing to do with a mid life crisis (honest)” Richard can be contacted for further details by email Richard. jackson@diochi.org.uk or phone 07540 330409.

The outline route is below and you can find fuller details and timings on the Diocesan website under Olympics 2012

Fr Daniel Smith said in his sermon, “What is distinctive about Christian marriage is that exclusive, lifelong bond between one man and one woman which, as the Book of Common Prayer puts it, ‘signifies unto us the mystical union that is betwixt Christ and his Church’. Christian marriage is to reflect God’s self giving love for us, and His love is the ultimate ‘agape’ love – the ultimate giving love.”
