Madrigals, Renaissance motets, and music by Elgar, Brahms and Berio

Winners of the Royal Overseas League Competition in 2011 and our Festival choir-in-residence for 2012, the Cries of London are eight young and immensely talented singers renewing the art of unaccompanied singing. As content to sing in a drawing room as they are on the street or in a concert hall, they draw from music written over the last thousand years across the stylistic spectrum. This performance hears them singing madrigals, part songs, motets and close harmony pieces.
