Monday 9th July Penguin Café presents

Arthur Jeffes – Sundog Arthur Jeffes, piano & dulcitone Oli Langford, violin

Assembly Room, Town Hall 7.30pm (Bar provided) £15, Under 25s £5

Arthur continues the Penguin Café story with an exploration of his own, more post-minimalist, sound. With the influence of Philip Glass, Wim Mertens and Simon Jeffes in mind, Arthur has created music of intricate and precise rhythms juxtaposed with warm and emotive melodies.

This is music which, because of its origin, can work happily under any number of names: classical, minimalist, chamber, or electronica. The piece Sundog was heard at the sell-out Penguin Café concert in the 2010 Festival and provides the basis for this set.
