Saturday 7th July Tine Thing Helseth Quintet
Assembly Room, Town Hall 9.15pm (Bar provided) £20, Under 25s £5
Tine Ting Helseth, trumpet Jarle Storlokken, guitar Aksel Jensen, bass Erik Jokling Kleiva, drums Gunnar Flagstad, piano
Following last year’s extraordinarily successful debut by tenThing Brassensemble, Tine Thing Helseth returns to Chester, this time with her eclectic Jazz/Fusion Quintet. TTHQ was formed in 2010 and this all-Norwegian band consists of Tine on trumpet, accompanied by guitar, bass, drums and piano. The appearance of TTHQ at
Chester Festival marks their UK debut. Stepping outside of easy musical labels, they’ll take us on an entertaining journey through arrangements of Bach, Piazzolla’s Oblivion, Weill and Dave Brubeck’s Blue Rondo à la Turk. It promises to be a beautifully contrasted, mellow and enjoyable evening and a perfect end to the day.
