Management Team Overview 2011
Steve Jackson – York
“The financial year 2010/2011 produced a record turnover for the Yorkshire region reinforcing the company’s desire to grow the business in a controlled manner.
Although this success was tempered by a reduction in workload in the latter months of 2011, our success on a number of recent tenders means that we are on course to match last year’s turnover in the current financial year.
Once again the backbone of the region’s workload was centred around North Yorkshire County Council’s framework and work for Stockton on Tees Borough Council. At the same time we undertook leisure schemes as well as work for the Diocese and we are continuing to work towards identifying new areas where we can increase and diversify our client base.
Despite the continued challenging market conditions I am sure that the teamwork ethos of all employees will make certain that 2012 is a successful year for the company and I thank all employees for their continued dedication, commitment and loyalty to the company.”
Steve Williamson – Manchester “The Manchester region continued its growth and diversification into 2011.
After a busy start to the year, momentum continued throughout the summer months where a wide variety of education, healthcare, public realm and ecclesiastical projects were completed or started on site.
Personal highlights include the professional and precise approach in which our team completed the technically challenging scheme on the Arndale Bridge. This was reinforced with the positive ‘can do’ attitude of the team at Hardy Mill School ensuring target programme dates were achieved whilst still enabling the school to operate safely in a construction environment.
Finally, the quality of the finished product that we handed over at Victoria Baths and Rawtenstall Fire Station was a testament to the positive ‘Parkinson’ ethos that we apply throughout all our operations.
These highlights were only achieved through the hard work and commitment of all our personnel, to which I offer my personal thanks. Along with all the other projects successfully undertaken in 2011 we are able to maintain our current good standing with valued clients including Manchester City Council, Bolton MBC, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, Manchester University, Manchester West Mental Health Trust and St Anne’s Hospice.
As we enter 2012 we maintain a positive outlook. The tough economic climate brings inevitable challenges but with continued drive and enthusiasm I believe that we are well placed to sustain our current market position and future.”
Simon Shearer – Blackpool
“2011 has been another successful year for the Blackpool region; we have been involved in a number of high profile contracts in the centre of the prestigious Fylde Coast.
This includes the completion of the phased refurbishment of the Blackpool Winter Gardens, the new build of Festival House/ Wedding Chapel on the Tower Headland and the completion of the Parkside Stand at Fleetwood Town FC.
We are currently a Blackpool Council Framework Partner and we have recently commenced a contract for Wyre Borough Council; we look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with our new and existing clients.
Our focus for 2012 will be centred on the Lancashire County Council Framework bid and we endeavour to become one of its new partners in the coming years. Both our Management Teams and our Marketing Department are working
exceptionally hard to secure enquiries and opportunities in the region.” 2 3
