Looking Forward to 2012
“We look forward to 2012 with anticipation and rise to its challenges and adapt accordingly.” Investor in People Re-certification
Following the successful achievement of the Investors in People (IiP) Standard in October 2009, 2012 marks the 3rd year anniversary and the year that our reaccreditation is due.
In line with Parkinsons’ continuous improvement ethos, we will be striving to achieve this standard once again and enhance it where possible. The IiP reaccreditation assessments are due to take place in October 2012. It will involve an audit on specific people processes and documents along with meeting a number of employees to discuss aspects such as training, development, communication and employee engagement. The company is also looking to increase awareness of IiP by holding a number of interactive workshops with employees throughout 2012.
Looking beyond 2012, the company is aiming to achieve the IiP Bronze Level Standard as well as further IiP accreditation in Health and Wellbeing.

Company Business Plan
The company Business Plan for 2012 was prepared with input from all staff and is the result of a detailed and systematic analysis of the position of the company supported by a number of key business targets. The main objectives for the next 12 months are as follows:- › Improve organisational Key Performance Indicators (KPI) scores › Expansion of work sectors › Development of our Supply chain › Continue to develop and train staff › Continue to improve IT and communication systems within the company › To monitor and improve Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) registered sites › Management of the Integrated Business System (IMS)
In addition to above aims for the coming year, the company is also focused on implementing cross-functional team-building development training to improve collaborative working between departments.
Events and Client Relations
The company is a member of various local construction and business focused groups, and of which many staff attend on a regular basis. We look to continue and expand this involvement during 2012 and beyond whilst ensuring the ‘right’ staff attend the ‘right’ events.
As part of our increased involvement our Business Development Manager, Mike Tyler is now a Committee Member at the Forum of the Built Environment (FBE) and at a business networking event in March the company will be giving a presentation on a local project we are currently undertaking.
