His versatility on the keyboard knows no bounds, whether you like sequence or line dancing, country music or Rock N´ Roll, Simon will deliver!

For those that like the sound of brass instruments, Simon incorporates his trumpet playing into his act.

Hi All! This month I would like to feature one of the most popular established entertainers and local radio presenters based here on the South Costa Blanca.

Simon Morton is one of the Costa Blanca’s top entertainers. I fi rst met him back in the early 2000s, shortly after he had moved to Spain. At that time, he was the resident entertainer at the International Club, held on Friday evenings at the (then) Los Arcos Restaurant, Torrevieja.

Simon has a great personality and is a very accomplished Musician, he seems to have been destined for a life in show business from a very early age. His musical career began when he was a mere fi ve years sold. Initially, he began learning the piano, then within a short time he progressed to the trumpet. By the time he had reached the age of seven, he had won a Scholarship to Lincoln Cathedral Choir School, where he remained for seven years, rising through the ranks, ultimately achieving the position of head chorister.

Several years later, Simon joined the Royal Marine Band Service. During this time, he travelled extensively and, along with the band, he played at many prestigious engagements from Royal Weddings to the Royal Tournament, while also appearing on a host of television shows including Blue Peter and Pebble Mill at One.

After fourteen years, he left the service and embarked on a career as a professional musician / entertainer, working for many years in the holiday camps and hotels across the South coast of England.

Simon Morton is a very versatile performer and his repertoire spans the decades, covering virtually all genres of popular music, taking in many different styles... one minute playing Glen Millar’s “In the Mood”, the next, songs from present day.

Grumpy Old Women

Getting older is like going to an all-you-can-eat buffet...

What should be hot is cold, what should be firm is limp, and the buns are bigger than anything else on the menu!

Simon Morton plays at many of the local entertainment venues in the area, and on Wednesdays, can be heard at “Alfi e’s Dock” at La Mata Beach (at the beach end of the road that the market is held), performing from lunchtime ‘til late afternoon.

Often wacky, always unpredictable, with a big personality and smile to match, if you haven’t already heard Simon... look out for his other appearances in the local press.

Bye for now. D.P.
