P A G E 5 Facilities Focus continued Let’s Design a Play Park!

Imagine you could design and build a purpose built play park, tailored to the needs and desires of o u r

y o u n g e r residents.

Would you choose to have a multi-purpose football and

basketball net, or a zip wire for

those who like to feel the wind in their hair? Would it have a secure area for the tiniest visitors, with equipment suitable for them to play on?

Well, you might not have to just think about it for much longer! One of the Parish Council’s major projects is looking at developing and refurbishing the children’s playground by The Key Centre. Our aim is to create a new enclosed playground that can be enjoyed by children from early years to school age as well as being suitable and safe for children

Spotlight on Sport

Football: At last youth team football has arrived on Elvetham Heath with Hart Football Club Under 9s, Hawks and Rovers, playing on Saturday mornings in the enclosed junior football pitch. Next season there is the possibility of an Under 10s girls team starting on Sunday mornings.

More pitch time is available, so contact The Key Centre for more details.

Rugby: Starting on Monday April 16th weekly Touch League Rugby will be using the Turners Wood playing fields. Open to both genders over the age of 16. Tennis: Tennis courts are available to hire at just £5.00 per court per hour For any information about sports facilities on The Heath contact Steve on 01252 623700

of all abilities to enjoy. We haven’t forgotten the older age group; should we enhance the area to provide a better variety of fun things to do? We think we have enough space to give all those who are school age something new.

How do you fit in? It’s simple. You need to tell us what to do!

The Parish Council would really welcome comments and suggestions from residents as to the type of equipment they would like to see. Ask your children what they would like, and think about other parks that you have been to and tell us what you liked and disliked.

You could come along to the Annual Residents’ Evening on 18th April to talk to us about your ideas and see pictures of the kinds of equipment we could buy, or you can email your ideas to Nicky Bond at nicky@elvethamheath.org.uk. Let’s work together to design a play park suitable for all ages to enjoy.
