Spirituality Mosaic of women meet at DSC

by Alison Stanton A long weekend of fun, fellowship and friendship awaits

women from around the Valley Thu., April 26 through Sat., April 28 at Desert Springs Church (DSC) in Chandler. The church, which also has campuses in Maricopa and

Apache Junction, is hosting the Mosaic Women’s Conference 2012 titled “Blanca.” “The word, which means white in Spanish, is how God sees

us,” says Becky Davis, worship leader and wife of Lead Pastor Brad Davis. Desert Springs Church has

hosted the annual women’s conference for about 14 years. Attendees do not need to be a member of the congregation to register for the popular event; the only requirement is that they are “junior high age and up.” “Anyone, from anywhere

around the globe, is welcome to attend,” Davis says, adding that many women attend year after year and some are coming in from out of state. The conference will begin Thursday evening with a festive

Becky Davis

opening celebration which Davis says will be filled with music and dancing and multimedia presentations. “It’s a time of worship and to hear challenging messages,”

she says. The afterparty, which takes place that night, “will be all about

fun with treats and food and lots of different activities.” Women will be

encouraged to mix and mingle with other attendees. On Friday, after a light breakfast,

the

group will gather for the morning session, which Davis says usually includes both “some good laughs and thought-provoking challenges.” Free time is scheduled after the Friday afternoon session,

which Davis says gives the women the opportunity to go shop- ping or do other activities before returning for another session that evening. A closing celebration on Saturday morning will bring the

event to a close. By noon, Davis says, everyone is exchanging fond farewells. “The women just love the concentrated time together and the

atmosphere. During the conference, we all learn new things about God and we also learn about other people,” she says. Advance registration for the event is required. The cost is $75

through March 24 and $85 for registration March 25 through the eve of the event. Desert Springs Church is at 19620 S. McQueen Rd. in

Chandler. For more information, call 480-726-0399 or visit www.desertspringschurch.com or www.dscwomen.com.
