The restaurant has a warm, lustrous interior with beau- tiful silver wall sconces sourced from neighborhood lighting store, Lumens and a rich wooden bar, wine & storage racks designed by local functional artist Marc Foster. Friendly and knowledgeable owner Julia Hadley has created a homey atmosphere where she says, one can “Get a good meal that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg”. Julia has always had a love of food,

so dabbled in catering during her career with UC Davis Health System. After retiring from the daily grind, she decid- ed to open up her own place, so looked to one of her favorite childhood memo- ries as inspiration. As a fifth generation East Sacramentan, Julia’s parents fre- quented their neighborhood restaurant, The Fireside, which was located on H Street near Elvas. Julia fondly remem- bers walking into the restaurant with her parents, and everyone turning to greet her father with “Hey Hads”. Anyone who was a regular at The Fireside recalls their delicious steak sandwich. Had’s version of the Fireside Steak Sandwich consists of 12 oz steak,
