Plates, a program of St. John's Shelter for Women and Children, is an employ- ment training program for formerly homeless mothers. Plates provides them with the skills and the work ethic to gain AND maintain employment in the restaurant, retail and hospitality industries. The ultimate goal is that mothers become employed and are able to independently sustain their families.
