AST year’sspecial Christmas event in Wickfordtown centrehas been hailed as another huge success by organisers. Alarge number of people turned out to see


the High Street lined with avariety of stalls selling arange of goods from homemade fudge to hand decorated Christmas baubles. The Rotary Club sleigh with Santa was ahit


with youngsters and aphotographer was on hand to capturethese treasured moments. As in previous years fairground rides were located in the High Street and market area, which added to the fun. Live entertainment was provided by Reload,


who sang amedley of songs, while popular local children’sentertainer,Ziggy Zoo, provid- ed lots of fun for little ones in The Willows.


also contributed to the entertain- ment programme, and aTown Crier added to the festive atmos- phereofthe evening. Story time in WickfordLibrary was as busy as in previous years with the support of WickfordChildren’s Triangle, who hosted messy play sessions. Light Up Wickfordwould like to take this opportunity to thank all


of its supporters, especially Basildon Borough Council, as they would not be able to arrange such and outstanding event without them. They would also like to thank all those who


got involved in the event, and all the local resi- dents who joined them on the evening. The group is now busy planning this year’s event, and is calling on local people to get involved, both business and residents. Among the plans this year arecertain improvements, which will include abetter ice rink if they can affordone again this year.
