by Karen Plumley Amazing Hero Artist Rob Surette inspired and wowed Pelham Elementary students with his presentation on Thursday, March 8, in the school gymnasium. The lights were off but Surette was right on when he said that talent isn’t everything. “Your dreams can come true when you believe in yourself and work hard,” he said to students during a school assembly on Thursday morning. “Everyone was born great. Raise your hand if you believe in yourself.” Surette’s inspirational hour-long presentation was accompanied by his amazing artistry. The show mingled clips of meaningful moments from Surette’s own childhood with live, on-the-spot drawings of his favorite heroes, including Jim Henson, Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Rosa Parks, Princess Diana and many others.
