Pianist, broadcaster and Academy alumnus David Owen Norris steps back to the days of Charles Dickens to present a delightful afternoon of Victorian music and discussion. Aided by students from the Academy’s Musical Theatre department, Norris will explore lyrics that Dickens wrote, ditties he liked, and music inspired by the irrepressible characters in his novels. Enjoy the opportunity to hear arias from the novelist’s rarely-staged opera The Village Coquettes. This event complements the Dickens and Music exhibition at the Academy’s museum.
