CGA Superintendent Stosz Named One Of ‘150 Women Who Shake the World’ and Appointed to Homeland Security Council

ear Admiral Sandra Stosz, the first female Superintendent of the U.S. Coast Guard


Academy, is named one of “150 Women Who Shake the World” by Newsweek Magazine. The magazine ranks her with such diverse notables as Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton. She earned her spot for “knocking down gender barriers in the U.S. Military since she joined more than 30 years ago,” Newsweek said. Stosz has many years of command service at sea and on land-based executive assignments. Earlier in March, Stosz was also been appointed to the Homeland Security Academic Advisory Council by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. The new council, comprised of
