is arguably the biggest trade fair in the world for lighting and the creaton of intelligent building design. The show attracts some of the world’s biggest names in lighting.

Light+Building is a much-anticipated show within the lighting industry. This year’s show will focus quite heavily on energy efficiency, and incorporating this into the development of new buildings. “The new world wide energy paradigm demands innovative technologies. Buildings will play a decisive role in this and we can already set course for a sustainable future today. And this is clearly shown by Light+Building, the world’s biggest trade fair for lighting and intelligent buildings”, says Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt. The extensive range of lighting products on show at the event provides a huge platform for the exploration of new and exciting energy saving technologies. The industry is continuing in a phase of immense change. As inefficient light sources are being progressively banned from use, the development of substitute products is gathering momentum. As a result, the quality of discussion at the event will be extremely high, as will the quality of products on show.

In Halls 1 to 6 and 10, manufacturers will

present their latest luminaires and lamps, as well as outdoor lighting for public areas. In this connection, technical luminaires and lamps in particular are distinguished by a broad spectrum covering all variations and all areas of application. In addition to technical design-oriented luminaires, Light+Building visitors will be able to see decorative lighting of all kinds and all price categories for the home and commercial sectors, not to mention future-oriented lighting technologies, such as LED and OLED. Lighting components round off this segment.

An extensive complementary programme of events will also provide a highlight for this year’s Light+Building. Additionally, the town of Frankfurt will once again play host to ‘Luminale’. For the seventh time, once Light+Building is closed for the day, Luminale gives exhibitors and visitors an opportunity to see fascinating light shows and events around Frankfurt.
