expansion Kahr Arms has chosen Gallup Media Marketing to handle all of its media and public relations. T e company also now includes
the Auto-Ordnance and Magnum Research Inc fi rm, meaning Gallup will be dealing with three key fi rearm clients. Sheryl Gallup, the president of
the marketing fi rm, said: “I have been fortunate to represent clients who manufacture products that place them among the leaders in their categories. “T e three companies in
the Kahr Arms family have a reputable history of producing innovative fi rearms, and I am honoured to be selected to represent them.” Frank Harris, Kahr Arms’ vice-
president of sales and marketing, added: “T e continued growth that we have experienced with Kahr Arms/Auto-Ordnance, and now the 2010 acquisition of Magnum Research Inc, has necessitated the need for media and public-relations support services. “We selected Gallup because of
the level of expertise it off ers and its media relationships within our industry.”

A more reliable supply chain and improved manufacturing are said to be just two key elements of the rebirth of Precision Target Rifl es, along with a name change. Originally known as PTR-
from J-Tech J-Tech, an American producer of tactical and outdoor nylon equipment, has closed a licensing deal with the US Marine Corps (USMC) to produce tactical gear under the USMC name. T e company recently launched
a USMC-branded outer-shell plate carrier, a tactical sling and a pistol-retention lanyard.

91 Inc, the management team that took over in late 2010 has now renamed the fi rm PTR Industries Inc, focusing on internal organisation, growth and profi tability, while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction. T e aim is to make PTR a truly
household name around the world by being driven by both consumers and the market. John Fiorini, PTR’s CEO,
explained: “T is company operates on the philosophy that its customers should be the motivation behind what we build,
rather than PTR telling the customers to buy.” As such, it has launched a full
line of classic PTR rifl es that will be every bit the modern reincarnation of the 91-type rifl e that collectors and enthusiasts are looking for. It has also introduced the
Modern Sporting Rifl e (MSR) – bringing the roller-lock platform into the sporting and hunting community – while its new line of short-barrelled rifl es is designed for the tactical shooter. Plans are also afoot for
purpose-built rifl es, a custom- designed competition rifl e, as well as expanding into new calibres in the future. A move to a new factory in Bristol, Connecticut, US, will
mark a promising beginning for PTR while also marking a clear and defi nite break from the company’s past. John McNamara, the vice-
president of sales, added: “Our new facilities will allow us to operate as a single unit, with offi ce staff and factory staff under a single roof, simplifying communication, expediting daily activities and allowing true team energy to emerge and power the future of our company.”
