We were very impressed with the professional approach from all involved

including those at the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Reed and the other exhibitors. It was one of the best exhibitions that I have ever attended.

The thing that made SHOT great was the fantastic attitude and very keen

interest that visitors and other exhibitors showed to our SSR Targets. It was good to see that they clearly knew an innovative product when they saw one. They also made lots of suggestions for the

product and other associated products that we are currently reviewing but, as you will see from the product information, we are adding a new profi le of a prairie dog as more than 50 people suggested this profi le.

This is the third time we attended and the best so far.

There are many purposes for coming. First of all, we can meet many of our

customers. Secondly, we can demonstrate our new products. Thirdly, we can fi nd out what others are doing. Fourthly, we can build connections with the suppliers and other potential partners. Lastly, we can see where the industry is moving so we are not left behind.

This year the number of attendees was most likely a little less than last year but

their enthusiasm was higher. We can see that the outdoor business is still growing strong, amid the economic slowdown. Shooting is a traditional sport but could

also be dangerous. As such, the demand for security-related products is also growing strong. The new gadgets like GPS systems, hunting cameras and advanced optics products all make hunting and outdoor activities more interesting and fruitful.

The organisers have done a good job to make the show successful. The

audiences, even many of our competitors, have been very friendly and constructive. The atmosphere and the mood of the audience is good, in contrast to the overall economic situation. Most importantly, SHOT helps us to connect with our customers and partners and, therefore, grow our business. So we’ll be coming again and again.

I have not paid much attention to possible changes but I can see a

few issues. Weaponry exhibitors are still overwhelming the show. While this is SHOT Show, if more other related exhibitors come then the show will be better. So this year’s fl oor planning of restricting some tactical spaces is in the right direction. As gun regulations get tougher, the

weaponry business is going to stabilise, while other related business continues to grow strong. As such, attracting other manufacturers, such as electronics, advanced optics and communications, can help SHOT to be more hi-tech.
