Kevin Kinsella and his GSS team are proud of their achievements so far.
Buyers have been beating a path to the door of Gun Storage

Field of Dreams. But unlike the 1989 fi lm – where Kevin Costner fulfi ls a wish of seeing dead baseball stars lining up to play on a pitch he created in his cornfi eld – the vision Kevin Kinsella harboured for years is now a reality. In fact, Kevin’s foresight and

innovative skills have made his company – Gun Storage Solutions (GSS) – the talk of the fi rearm industry with buyers clamouring for his unique products. Kevin, the resident of GSS,
which he runs from his 3½-acre homestead in Cooksville, Illinois, US, has really cracked the gun-safe business by coming up with two revolutionary ideas – Rifl e Rods and Handgun Hangers – which

allow shooters to increase the number of weapons they store in their safes by at least 50 per cent.
Rods and hangers Rifl e Rods allow varying heights of guns to be organised and they work with scopes, double barrels and even shorter AR guns. A piece of loop fabric is attached
to the underside of a shelf in a gun safe and then a rod, with another piece of Velcro on the end, is placed into the barrel of the rifl e or shotgun to be stored. T e weapon is positioned on
the fl oor of the safe wherever the owner feels it fi ts best and then the rod is raised and the two pieces of ‘hook & loop’ hold it securely in place. T e Handgun Hangers use the least-used space in a safe – under
the shelves. T ey are made of vinyl-coated steel, which protects the barrels and allows pistols to be neatly placed under the shelves in a safe, which also gives owners quick and easy access to their weapons. And to complete Kevin’s
remarkable line-up of creations there is the Kikstand – designed for gun shop display cases – which has really grabbed the attention of dealers across America. But, although his products are
being given a huge thumbs up by everyone who sees them, his greatest piece of good fortune was joining forces with the Liberty Safe Company – America’s largest safe maker and one of the biggest worldwide – which is distributing the Rifl e Rods and Handgun Hangers in its accessory product line.
It was the breakthrough Kevin
had longed for because it will guarantee sales – which had been increasing steadily – to reach way into six fi gures. Turnover for the opening month of this year alone was 100 per cent up on the same period last year.
Growth strategy Kevin’s main challenge now is that his family run fi rm – wife Patti is vice-president and offi ce manager, his middle daughter Katie is vice- president of marketing and sales and his youngest daughter Kellie is vice-president of production – will be able to keep up with the ever- increasing demand.
