FAIR goes side-by-side N

intent on producing a side- by-side shotgun was not so much a surprise as a welcome confi rmation for many. FAIR is already the second-

largest producer of over-and- under shotguns in Italy – a signifi cant position in a country noted for its fi ne-gun-making traditions. As a worldwide supplier –

often under diff erent brands and for varied markets – it was natural that some of FAIR’s major customers, importers and distributors for its over-and- under guns should ask about potential side-by-sides. Demand eventually dictated

T e ISIDE will become

available in all popular gauges: 12, 16, 20, 28 and 36 (.410). Each action will be truly

scaled to suit the gauge, with the appropriate weight and suitably balanced. T e rifl ed side-by-sides

will feature a special barrel convergence system so the relative points of impact can be adjusted to achieve the desired result at fi nal assembly and then soldered in place to be invisible once the rifl e is completed. Shotgun barrels are made on a

demi-bloc concept where the two full-length tubes are soldered to a separate and fully machined steel forging incorporating both the hinge and locking points. Meanwhile, the rifl ed versions

will employ the well-established ‘monobloc’ system where the barrel tubes are soldered into a fully machined forged steel breechblock.
