You may be wondering if there has been a misprint in the headline of this article. Surely food and politicians have no place here, especially when they are included in the same headline as a manufacturing company.
Their diversity is also what links them and links them with Safety First Manufacturing. The common thread, is that they are all unusual combinations. There is nothing unusual about being unusual per se, what sets these apart is that they actually work and furthermore work outstandingly well. And that leads on to SFM's unusual combination: it is a predominantly female team in a male- dominated industry.
The company has been under female leadership for over 25 years now and this has increased in the last 18 months with Amanda Thatcher (one of the founders of the company) taking the role of CEO and Emily Wright (who has been with the company since 2002) being promoted from General Manager to Managing Director.
