RBTE Highlights

There are a number of special features at this year’s RBTE. So that you know what to expect, we’ve put together a short introduction to each one for you.

Pecka Kucha Theatre The Pecha Kucha challenge is coming to RBTE! The Pecha Kucha theatre will feature 20 presentations each day - but each one will last just 6 minutes 40 seconds and no longer. Pecha Kucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where just 20 images are shown, each for 20 seconds. RBTE have adopted this format as a way to offer visitors the opportunity to get a clear and simple overview of the industry's key issues, on a time limit!

‘The Future of Retail – Lighting Up the High Street’ BT will be hosting this special showcase at 2012’s Retail Business Technology Expo. The company has one of the biggest Research and Development centres in the world and will be sharing its knowledge of what is available on the market today as well as what could be possible for the future. BT’s showcase will include interactive demonstrations and provide personalised tours, where visitors will be able to view technology to meet their exact needs. Retail could be seriously altered by technologies including Wi-Fi, digital signage, social commerce and retail analytics, and this special section dedicated to the exploration of future possibilities should be very exciting.

Global Retail Forum Partnering with Retail Business and Technology expo to run a whole series of meetings with key industry speakers, Global Retail Forum will be holding a series of panelist meetings in their own dedicated theatre at the show. Members and non-member retailers will have the opportunity to meet and network in a specially created International Pavillion. Panelist meetings are based around specific business areas within retail, and will be hosted by key industry speakers.

Innovation Showcase The Innovation Showcase offers businesses the opportunity to showcase a product or solution free of charge at the event. The exhibits that will go on display will be selected by the show’s Steering Committee, who will decide on seven companies that will be given the chance to exhibit their product or solution in a 16sqm space. Innovations must be new rather than upgraded, and must have been available for less than 10 months in just a few sites.
