Currys PC World Signs Up to St. Modwen’s Phoenix Retail Park
Another of the country’s leading retailers has confirmed it will open at St. Modwen’s £8 million Phoenix Retail Park in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, leaving just one unit remaining. Curry’s PC World has announced it will open a 12,100 sq ft superstore at the park, which is currently under construction and due to be ready for trading in April. Other high profile brands already signed up are McDonalds, Pets@Home and Smyths Toys. Phoenix Retail Park is being developed on the former Phoenix Timber Yard site and enjoys a prime position fronting the A50 leading to Longton town centre. It will provide four new retail units totalling 42,100 sq ft together with a McDonald’s restaurant and Drive Thru plus parking for 233 cars.

A long-standing director of Northampton- based shop fitting and retail display company Triplar has been appointed to the Executive Council of The National Association of Shopfitters (NAS). Mike Rodwell’s credentials as one of the UK’s most respected and influential names in shop fitting have been further cemented with his appointment to the Executive Council. Rodwell took up his post following the NAS Annual General Meeting held on the 14th February, where he was elected by a cross section of industry members. On his appointment, Rodwell said: “Having served, in former years, on Confederation of British Industry (CBI) work groups and other industry boards it is a privilege to be asked to help represent shop fitting at our highest and most influential level.”
