“Thumbs down to the comment about Mr. Lane. He does an outstanding job and Alvirne is lucky to have him.

Maybe if your kid is getting detentions you as the parent should step up and make sure your kid behaves appropriately.”

“Thumbs up and

congratulations to Becca Arnone of Campbell High School for being one of only 2 female high school basketball players in NH history to hit 1000 points and 1000 rebounds!”

“Thumbs up to the Hudson

Town Clerk. I just registered my truck, trailer and boat all at the same time. Thanks for the one stop shopping convenience. Maybe next year my snowmobile and ATV? Keep up the great work!”

“Thumbs down to the cranky old ladies that work at the library.”

“Thumbs down to the person

giving a thumbs down to drivers not letting people out of a side street. People on the main road have the right of way and people like you, my friend, are going to cause an accident. Although you think you are being kind, all you are doing is causing a road hazard. Follow the laws of the road so everybody stays safe.”

“Thumbs down to the

moving forward as a town after the elections and not flat lining. Living in the past with old ideas will only result in higher taxes for residents and more town economic stagnation. Positive change needs to be implemented such as allowing more small business into the town. With new people comes new ideas. Vote for change – vote in new members.”

year I have to replace my mailbox and just 2 snowstorms so far this season. Shouldn’t there be a driving test before you give someone that job? I’m sorry, but if you can’t do the job, so shouldn’t have it. These snow storms just weren’t that bad.”

“Thumbs up to new town representatives in Litchfield such as businessman and current Fire Chief Tom Schofield. Tom has demonstrated his ability to budget finances over and over again successfully. Voters look at the facts and it is clear that Tom is the right man for the job. Litchfield, are we going to move ahead with new ideas or same old same? It’s time for forward thinkers.”

“Thumbs down to those who keep writing negative comments about Litchfield fire fighters who are running for a position within the town that they live in. Why be a hater? The fact that they already give of their time for the town with dedication makes me think that they are serious about supporting the best interest of the town. How about a little

“Thumbs up to Litchfield

Litchfield Fire Fighter (if he still is one) running for Board of Selectmen. There is no way you will get our vote and hopefully the people of Litchfield really know the type of person you are. Just a warning to the people of Litchfield do your homework before you vote or we will all be sorry.”

“Thumbs down to Hudson candidate’s for selectman!! What are you going to do for the struggling families cutting back on basic necessities just to survive? How are you going to decrease taxes and better manage taxpayer funds? Residents of Hudson want a BOS that is in the best interest of the Taxpayer not Town employees or departments! Martin and Martino want to increase taxes by unionize the police department and increasing salary/benefits for town employees! We need a BOS that is fiscally responsible to the Hudson tax-payer!! BOS need to work for the residents not against them!!”

“Thumbs down! To BOS Candidate Nancy

Brucker! It’s obvious that Brucker thinks were living in a1999 economy living high on the hog! She doesn’t care about struggling underemployed working class families and has a let them eat cake mentality! Brucker, feels that it’s okay to unionize/ award town employees lavish pay raises/ benefits. She’s excited about building the $2.5M Senior Center, leaving a burden of $150 for every man, woman and child in Hudson! This equals a family of 4 paying $600!! Stop letting the town hold the working class hostage in their own over-assessed and over-taxed homes, wake up Hudson before it’s too late!!”

“Thumbs up to the superbly run Cheer Camp sponsored by the Campbell High Cheerleaders. Our daughter had a blast! Thanks for making her feel like a real cheerleader!”

“Thumbs down to the 500,000 (Half a Million!) dollars proposal for 2 miles of road! Really? 2 miles? Oh, and we can’t tell you what roads! Just vote it in and be quiet! Kinda like the trash! Is this that important or maybe just another slush fund like all the other road taxes? With gas on the rise isn’t this one of the worst times to do it! Come on, give the taxpayer a break!”

Bronco Tyler Livingston out positions South’s Jack Preston, #34, and pulls down a classic two-handed rebound

Jim Tomaswick, #33, takes the rock strong to the rim for the Broncos in their quarter-final playoff win over NS

submitted by Jim Tomaswick On Friday night March, four Broncos took the floor for their last regular season game. Tony Beaulieu, Sean Dunn, Robbie Diamond and Jimmy Tomaswick have been playing basketball together for eight or more years on several different teams. Prior to entering Alvirne, these four players were part of very successful teams winning championships at many levels including recreational, travel all-stars (back-to-back), state AAU titles and many other tournament winners. They brought this winning mentality to Alvirne and have helped the Broncos to winning seasons at the Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels including a trip to the semi-finals last year at UNH. Friday night these four young men were honored for their contributions to the Alvirne Bronco basketball programs and their names added to the list of Broncos that had worn the maroon and gold before them. Alvirne entered the game looking to improve

Alvirne’s Tony Beaulieu strips the ball from Nashua South’s Tim Preston and then goes the length of the court for the lay-in

their 10-7 record against Winnacunnet and they did not disappoint the fans decisively winning 77-58. The seniors accounted for over half of the Broncos points scoring a combined 39 points lead by Tony Beaulieu who had double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. Jimmy Tomaswick also had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebound while Sean Dunn chipped in with nine points and five assists. Alvirne took the lead early in the game and never looked back going up 49-34 in the first half behind 12 points from Tyler Livingston (16 points for the game) and 13 points from Tyler Brown (15 points for the game). Alvirne sealed the victory in the third quarter outscoring Winnacunnet 18-9 and tanking a 24 point advantage. Midway through the fourth quarter Tyler Brown stole the ball and hit a racing Beaulieu who erupted the crowd with a very athletic dunk over the defense. The three seniors were subbed out shortly after to an ovation from the crowd. The victory secured a first

round home playoff game against Nashua South. Alvirne hosted their first first round playoff game in several years in a re-match against Nashua South who handed the Broncos their worse loss earlier in the regular season. The Steckevicz gymnasium was packed as the Alvirne fans came to support the “white-out.” Alvirne started off fast taking a 21-9 lead in the late minutes of the first quarter only to turn the ball over three straight times and allowing the Panthers to close the quarter on a 6-0 run and cutting the Bronco lead to six points 21-15. South outscored Alvirne in the second quarter and took a two point advantage into the half 33- 31. The second half was like a heavy weight battle with each team trying to throw the knock-out punch. With 5:14 left in the game the score was tied at 61 when the Broncos went on a 7-0 run and never looked back. Tyler Livingston scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds for the Broncos while Tony Beaulieu had 18 points, eight steals and seven rebounds in Alvirne’s 77-70 victory. Alvirne will travel to Trinity for the quarterfinal game on Friday night.
