LS-LIVE AND ACORN EVENTS ANNOUNCE SPLIT

UK

LS-Live and Acorn Events have announced that the two companies will no longer be working towards a full merger. LS-Live, the West-Yorkshire based rehearsal studio, staging and set construction company, formed a partnership with Acorn’s outdoor staging division in March 2011. Together the two companies developed

the large outdoor Space Roof stage, which debuted at Wembley Arena for the Capital FM Summertime Ball last summer. After almost a year of working together,

both parties have decided to go their separate ways in order to “concentrate on their core business”. Said LS-Live General Manager, Ben Brooks:

“We have enjoyed an exciting year breaking into the large outdoor staging market and it has been a learning curve for us as a company, but whilst we will continue to work with Acorn to offer clients a full-service stage and set package, we will now operate completely independently.” LS-Live will focus its operations on the

rental of rehearsal facilities, the design and build of stage sets for the concert touring and production industry, and rental of on stage equipment. “We have the biggest supply of LiteDeck

alongside automation equipment, rolling house stages, the Mini Stage and other products, which puts us in a great position to offer cost- effective custom stage sets largely from off-the- shelf hire stock in house,” said Brooks. Acorn Events will continue to supply staging

working with Mojo Barriers, and bringing their products and experience to events in the region. “Mojo is already well known in Norway as

the leading stage barrier and crowd control company and many acts tour with their own systems, which we will now be able to supplement with additional barriers. “To enable maximum market reach we

have formulated our own partnership with global security firm Securitas (the world’s second largest security firm). Securitas’ huge infrastructure across Norway gives us the capacity and ability to roll out the Mojo system to the country’s most prestigious events and festivals.” The exclusive distributor status means that Norwegian clients now have access to the

whole range of Mojo products including Mojo’s aluminium stage barriers, gates, exits, corners and bar barriers. Mojo’s skilled European team will also be on hand to support and advise on bespoke crowd flow configurations. Leon van der Velden, International Account

Manager, Mojo Barriers, said: “We’re looking forward to a long lasting and fruitful partnership with Vaktvesenet helping to keep audiences safe across a huge range of live events in Norway. “This partnership extends our global

distribution network even further and increases our reach into Scandinavia, where we already have established distributors in Denmark and Finland, serving their local market and more effectively supporting touring artists.” www.mojobarriers.com

systems and scaffold structures to the outdoor event industry, whilst retaining ownership of the Space Roof, Midi Stage and Dome Stage along with the UK’s largest rental stock of Layher event scaffold system. Acorn Events’ Andy Nutter continued:

“Following an incredibly successful first season since introducing the Space Roof system to the UK market, we will be focusing our energy on what we do best, delivering outdoor staging and scaffold based structures to the live event industry.” Brooks concluded: “With so much

development happening on site at LS-Live with new rental facilities and the growth of Backstage Academy, we’re pleased that the new structure means we can really drive our respective businesses forward.”
