This year, the in-focus programme takes on a completely new format, designed to bring you more inspirational content and a more flexible experience during your 3 days at in-cosmetics. A dedicated section on our website and an onsite guide will help you navigate through 5 special features, identifying dozens of experts along the way – just follow the sun logo!

The Solar Trail – Solarise your visit!

Whereas the previous editions of in-focus grouped innovation and visionary concepts together in a special feature area, this year we wanted those to work individually as a series of highlights on the show floor, giving you the opportunity to progress along your personalised trail as you explore a world of Solar Beauty. Leading suppliers such as Air Products, Arkema, Ashland, BASF, Cargill, Clariant, CLR, Cosmetochem, Creations Couleurs, Croda, Daito Kasei, DKSH, DSM, HallStar, IRB, Jan Dekker, Kobo Products, Lachemi, Laserson, Sinerga, Solabia, Miyoshi Kasei and Total will showcase their latest actives, functional ingredients and product concepts opening up a whole new world of possibilities in the fields of sun protection and radiant beauty. For more details, visit www.in-cosmetics.com/SolarTrail

The Beach – An inspirational break

After you have met with thousands of professionals and discovered hundreds of new products, the in-focus Beach on the show floor will offer you a haven of relaxation, where you can refresh your thoughts and recharge your batteries before resuming your visit. Designed as an entertaining and interactive forum, the in-focus platform helps you put marketing stories back in perspective, discuss trends, regulations and new technologies with experts or simply gives you inspiration for new ideas. Plus this year, the area will offer a dedicated comfort zone including a bar and relaxing sun-deck.

SkinClinic: Get an instant check-up on your skin’s solar defences (by SkinLabs) It is easier to take care of your skin if you understand how it works and see what’s happening under the surface. As markets are maturing, consumers are becoming more receptive to preventative care and are showing a greater interest in how products work. Anticipating a future where

consumers will check out the state of their skin on iPads as they monitor their weight on personal scales, the SkinClinic will offer you the opportunity to screen the state of your skin’s natural defences with regards to UV exposure.

NanoWorld: Map out their life cycle and regulatory status around the world (by EcoMundo) The problem with nano-particles starts with defining what they are and then being able to follow their status in the end product through out its life cycle. Do they remain in their original nano state? Does their coating make them bigger? Do they agglomerate? Do they ever go back to their nano- state? Depending where you are in the world, authorities may have different views on the subject and issue different regulations. To serve as a basis for discussion, EcoMundo will present a touch- screen programme on the life cycle of nanos in a sun protection cream – from design to waste – plus an interactive map of the international regulatory status as it stands today.

WebInsight: What do internauts really say on nanos in suncare? (by Attraction/Planetinnov) Social media is a powerful buzz spreading communication channel. But it can also be a useful tool to map out e-pinions, equalise the sounds of trends and precisely analyse the reality of a customer's opinion on a hot topic. Planetinnov and Attraction have conducted a special study on what consumers say on nanos in suncare. Using tactile tablets, visitors will be invited to try and imagine people’s e-pinions and then analyse the spread between your perception of the buzz and the reality of its expressions.

AdGallery: Images of solar beauty in advertising since the 30’s Was it all there since the beginning? Have we lost a sense of freedom since the golden age of solar adoration? Has the image of solar beauty really changed over the past 80 years? The in-focus exhibition invites you to rediscover cult images of suncare ads, awe at bold claims no brands would

dare to renew and marvel at images signed by the world's greatest designers.
