NuSil Technology will showcase a new product called DSP2-9528-40, which may be used in a wide range of personal care systems. DSP2-9528-40 is a low percent solids (15% dimethiconol) blend of dimethiconol and cyclopenta- siloxane. It is an ideal ingredient for use in various personal care products requiring substantivity such as
sun care and skin care. DSP2-9528-40 may also be considered as an ingredient in hair care formulations to add silkiness, shine, lubricity and detangling. DSP2-9528-40 is a “high viscosity dimethiconol”, with a viscosity of 38,000 cPs.

Sasol has extended its PARAFOL product range. In addition to PARAFOL 12-97 and PARAFOL 14- 97, Sasol now also offers PARAFOL 16-97, PARAFOL 18-97, and PARAFOL 22-95. All PARAFOL types are high purity, highly linear single cut paraffins made from renewable resources. The liquid PARAFOL types 12-97, 14-97, and 16-97 can be used as natural-based replacements for cyclomethicones or petrochemical isoalkanes. The solid PARAFOL types 18-97 and 22-95 are wax additives or replacers of high molecular- weight dimethicones.
