Aromtech Ltd. is launching a family of ingredients based on plants harvested from the latitude of the Arctic Circle (66° 33’ 44’’). The products include preservative-free natural glycerine-water based extracts of meadowsweet flower, cloudberry seed, roseroot, heather flower and juniper sprout. The Arctic glycerine-water extracts possess strong antioxidant activity in hydro and lipophilic phases, as indicated by their high ORAC values, and are characterised by their high content of natural polyphenols and other bioactivities. The products are REACH exempt and compliant with the COSMOS NATURAL standard. Meadowsweet, cloudberry, roseroot, heather and juniper have been used for centuries in the Northern naturopathy to treat and prevent various disorders. Their activities are based on the high content of anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative polyphenols and other bioactive compounds typical of each plant: rosavins and salidroside of roseroot, flavonols of meadowsweet and juniper and ellagitannins and ellagic acid of cloudberry.
