Spring is finally on its way and this is traditionally one of the busiest periods of the year for buying and moving home. There is a noticeable upswing in the amount of homes for sale on the open market and this is also reflected on our website with 639 properties currently available (to either rent or buy); a 25% increase since our last edition of Round Up.
We have also seen increased activity on the website with our hit rate per day up to 77,431; this is an all time high and just shows there is still an incredible amount of interest in affordable home ownership.
There also appears to be many more lenders offering products for Shared Ownership buyers and there are 2 lenders currently offering 95% mortgages with interest rates ranging between 5.0-6.0%. This means you may only need a 5% deposit based on the value of the share to get your first step on the ladder. But don’t forget there are many other offers available and if you have a larger deposit available you could get fixed term interest rate as low as 3.79%. If you are considering the FirstBuy scheme, a 5% deposit you could get fixed rate mortgage with a monthly interest rate of 3.59%.
