Our overall mission is to position our partners and DuPage County as the premier destination for both business and leisure travel,


and to continue to play a vital role in contributing significant and irreplaceable tourism revenue to our economy.


TOURISM AS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN DUPAGE COUNTY


The hospitality industry in DuPage is a multi-billion dollar industry and an important segment of our economic development.


▪ Visitor expenditures in DuPage average $2 billion annually.


▪ Approximately 21,000 people are directly employed in the county’s hospitality industry, generating over $520 million in annual payroll.


▪ Roughly $140 million in state and local taxes are collected from visitors to DuPage County each year.


▪ Visitor expenditures help save every DuPage County household from paying an average of $1,100 in


additional state taxes each year.


Tax revenues from tourism enhance the overall quality of life in DuPage County by providing jobs and helping fund improvements for schools, public safety organizations, libraries, pools, parks and overall infrastructure.
