FOCUS on POWER
True, on-line, double conversion UPS systems have always been the preferred topology for mission-critical applications.
In the past, however, these systems offered lower efficiency when compared to off-line, delta conversion, economy mode and other standby type UPS systems.
Mitsubishi’s DiamondPlus 1100 Series UPS and 9900 Series UPS technologies provide a true on-line UPS system with high efficiencies, no matter what the load. Mitsubishi says the systems mean there is no longer a need to compromise system availability by using risky topologies to achieve high efficiency.
The DiamondPlus 1100 Series UPS is modular, hot swappable, has high efficiency, is upgradeable and comes with a small footprint.
For its 9900 Series UPS, Mitsubishi pioneered the use of the IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) in the inverter and converter sections of the UPS.
Mitsubishi says many competitive UPS units on the market today have followed Mitsubishi’s lead, making the IGBT the preferred power device for UPS systems. It says its 9900 Series has outstanding efficiencies, even at low load levels.
IN THE DATA CENTER
Mitsubishi’s UPSs help contribute to a low power usage effectiveness (PUE), which means savings in energy for more efficient data centers, and a lower TCO. They also have a small footprint which allows for future expansion in the data center.
Colocation and cloud hosting services provider DataChambers in the US chose Mitshubishi Electric’s 9900B 750KVA UPS for an efficiency rating up to 97%. Even at 25% load, the efficiency of the UPS is 96%, according to Mitsubishi.

What Makes the DiamondPlus™ 1100 UPS Superior? • Efficiencies greater than 93% • True on-line double conversion with fully-digital IGBT converter & inverter
• Flexible, modular design • Hot swappable • Front access • Upgradeable • Lightweight & compact
Mitsubishi UPS. Your best choice for world-class superiority & data protection.
If Your Data is Worth Protecting, Don’t Settle for Less Than the Best
the UPS offered DataChambers a fully digital three-level converter and inverter and efficient true on-line double conversion UPS. It also came with Mitsubishi’s three-year service warranty. The unit provides a .98 power factor at 25% capacity, providing an efficiency greater than 96%.
After a phone call to the Mitsubishi representative, the UPS was available within days. In addition, the system was up and running in less than eight hours from the dock to the floor of the data center.
The final result is reduced cost of ownership and improved PUE compared to conventional UPSs, Mitsubishi says. DataChambers says it is so pleased with the system’s performance, it plans to standardize on Mitsubishi UPSs in future.
